Two plays by Lesya Ukrainka. Two stories about choices that cannot be postponed.
Which is stronger: truth or peace of mind? Freedom or compromise? Can a person remain true to themselves when the world demands they renounce their own voice?
In these student staged readings, “Orgy” and “Cassandra” emerge not as museum pieces, but as a living dialogue with the present. These are stage sketches created at the intersection of the written word, theatrical action and personal experience. The young actors do more than speak the text – they live through the conflicts of the characters, seeking answers to questions that remain as urgent today as ever.
Cassandra is fated to know the future, yet no one is willing to hear her. Anteus, in “Orgy”, faces a choice between fame that demands self-denial and fidelity to his own art. Both stories explore the price of truth, dignity and freedom – a price that every generation must determine anew.
