Almost (!) vaudeville situation, old and eternally new life stories in questions and answers taken from Motley Stories by Antosha Chekhonte (also a Spleenless Man) of 1880s.
That is some kind of collage of mini-plays based on Chekhov’s short stories: “A DOUGHTER OF ENGLAND” “A LONG TONGUE”, “INHABITANTS”, “WALLET”, AND “COMIC”. 15-20 minutes each, but during that time, the characters find in themselves such deep emotions and feelings they would prefer to keep inside. Alas, quite nice people have far from the best qualities exposed, and for this, one, albeit insignificant, case is enough.
What kind of situation may turn old friends into animals ready to cut each other’s throats? What happened so that in the innocent eyes of a young wife, her husband suddenly clearly saw debauchery? Why did a retired military man, peacefully talking with a guest, so suddenly burst into anger? ..
Minutiae of Life is a concentrate of humour, emotions, and developments. And we all know, the concentrate is good in small portions. Otherwise, you’ll get sick. Sick of a thought that a human nature is weak in temptation and does not even understands it.
The performance is based on the independent work of theater artists and artists of the Professional Studio.
